Batuku e os Rabelados: A antropologia da dança de uma resistência.

Resumo

RESUMOEsta comunicação tem como objetivo apresentar aspectos e desafios da pesquisa de doutorado da autora, contrastando a área da Antropologia da Dança e Arte Contemporânea. O tema do estudo parte da pesquisa de campo da autora em Cabo Verde com a comunidade Rabelados Espinho Branco, comunidade essa que surge em meados de 1940 ao sofrerem perseguições da Igreja Católica e se virem obrigados a “refugiarem-se em seu próprio país”. Morando em lugares de difícil acesso e por vezes remotos, os Rabelados Espinho Branco passaram quase 80 anos em isolamento e boicote por parte do governo. Em meio a este contexto, sem acesso a qualquer tipo de política pública, a dança tradicional cabo verdiana, chamada Batuku, foi uma das ferramentas responsáveis por resguardar e transmitir essa história de resistência. A pesquisa de campo realizada de 2015 a 2019 coletou diversos materiais visuais e gráficos, como vídeos, filmagens, pinturas e labanotação, a fim de registrar a dança e seu trajeto na aldeia. Enquanto etnocoreóloga, a autora apresenta sua análise de materiais e, com conjunturas teóricas, a história dos Rabelados através das transformações que a dança Batuku sofreu nesse contexto.Palavras-chave: Antropologia da Dança. Rabelados.ABSTRACTThis paper aims to present aspects and challenges of the author's doctoral research, contrasting the area of Dance Anthropology and Contemporary Art. The subject of the study is part of her fieldwork in Cape Verde, in Rabelados Espinho Branco community, emerged in the mid-1940s when they were persecuted by the Catholic Church and were forced to “take refuge in their own country”. Living in places with difficult to access and sometimes remote, the Rabelados Espinho Branco have spent almost 80 years in isolation and boycotted by the government. In the midst of this context, without access to any type of public policy, the traditional Cape Verdean dance, called Batuku, was one of the tools responsible for safeguarding and transmitting their history of resistance. The fieldwork was carried out from 2015 to 2019 and collected several visual and graphic materials, such as videos, filming, paintings and labanotation, in order to record the dance and its path in the village. As an ethnocoreologist, the author presents her analysis of materials and, with theoretical circumstances, the history of the Rabelados through the transformations that Batuku dance underwent in this context.Keywords: Anthropology of Dance.
