Abstract
The article discusses the contribution of theater to the practice of geographic education from the perspective of socio-spatial segregation in a school territory. The text results from the partial results of a postgraduate research in Geography Teaching, at a doctoral level, where the objective is to analyze the results of the pre-production, production and post-production of the theater show “Prometeu Negro Acorrentado” at the school full-time high school (PEI) “Marciano Toledo de Piza”, in the city of Rio Claro-SP. The research methodology is qualitative and exploratory. Ethnographic research and interviews with educators, managers and students were also carried out in all instances of the activity that lasted 6 months, being carried out in the first half of 2022. When discussing geographic themes through its playfulness, the results of the research reveal that the pedagogical presence of a theatrical show that has as its central theme the contradictory social relations of the periphery territories, can encourage debates and powerful reflections for students, educators and managers, as well as can expand and enhance the development of reasoning and thinking space.
