THE TRAJECTORY OF CIA. DO CAMINHO VELHO AS ARTISTIC AND POLITICAL RESISTANCE IN THE PERIPHERY OF GUARULHOS

Abstract

This study focuses on the artistic practices promoted by Cia. do Caminho Velho in the Pimentas neighborhood, outskirts of Guarulhos. The continuity of the group's work, its efforts to promote artistic activities in the outskirts of the city, and the creation of a space of coexistence between the academic and non-academic community through free theater initiation courses are some of the points on which this study will focus. This experience will be approached based on the trajectory of the author, who in 2015 became a student and then a teacher of these courses. The work investigates the history of Cia. do Caminho Velho as an artistic and political resistance in the city of Guarulhos.
