Abstract
This article investigates Experiência nº3, a performance created by the brazilian multi-artist Flávio de Carvalho, in 1956, in which he paraded through the streets of the city of São Paulo with his Traje de Verão or New Look Tropical. I investigate, from an expanded field perspective (KRAUSS, 1984), the writing records and images of said action to identify aspects that reveal the effects of coloniality (QUIJANO, 1992) through dressing. In this way, it´s possible to understand that the creation of the costume and the choice of the public space of the street as a stage, are configured in a micropolitical action that promotes reflections on the cultural influences in the Brazilian dress patterns. Finally, I emphasize that the purpose is not to seek a framework of a decolonial aesthetic for the artist, but to understand how artistic events of the past can reverberate nowadays if thought from decoloniality as epistemological possibility.
