Abstract
The German composer and polymath Richard Wagner (1813-1883) elaborated, new experiences of musical dramaturgy and theories of art, based, among other references, on reception of the forms of ancient Greek dramaturgy. One of the themes of this reception is the idea of a chorus. In Wagner, there is a shift from the idea of the choir as a performative group to that of the orchestra. In this communication, texts and moments of this displacement are presented and commented. With this, it aims to subsidize new research on chorality, emphasizing its conceptualization, issues, and modalities of realization.
