Abstract

CORPO-RIO is an experimental documentary webseries in five episodes that records a group of performers dancing along the course of the Itapemirim River, the main watercourse in the southern region of Espírito Santo. The creation process took place in 2021 and included technical visits, a performance and recording laboratory in four cities. We approach the concepts of ecoperformance and video-documentary and also propose a body investigation based on dance contact improvisation, contemplative practices, body-environment immersion (Ciane Fernandes) and situated composition (Líria Morais). In the current stage of the research, we have dedicated ourselves to the study and deepening of the concepts of ecoperformance (Maura Baiochi, Ciane Fernandes, Elizabeth Doud, Leonardo Paulino, Gabriela Holanda) and video-documentary (Bill Nichols). It is intended in this oral presentation to contextualize the research, its methodological aspects and current findings regarding the two concepts in depth. This research is part of the qualitative and post-positivist research paradigm (Sylvie Fortin; Pierre Gosselin). The documents of the creation process are fundamental data for the research. Collecting, categorizing and theorizing about these data is a possibility to make the practice visible and moldable. Theorizing is a way of interpreting it (Josette Féral). Writing about my own practice reveals an auto-ethnographic posture (Sylvie Fortin) increasingly interested in dialogue with peers, in a process of recognition and identification. KEY WORDS Ecoperformance. Video documentary. Audio-visual. Creation process.
