The Projeto Homem Sankofa, Artes da Cena e Afrodescendência was conceived by the art educator through the results that were obtained with the production of the theatrical show Prometeu Negro Acorrentado. The actor-author is a doctoral student, master, bachelor and licensed in Geography by Unesp, the researcher was inspired by law 10 639, which establishes in Brazil the mandatory teaching of Afro-Brazilian history and culture within the disciplines that are already part of the curricula for primary and secondary education. It also establishes the 20th of November as the day of black consciousness in the school calendar, and aims to include the theme Afro-Brazilian history and culture in elementary and high schools. This article is an experience report from the process of conception, creation, staging and circulation of the show Prometeu Negro Acorrentado. Through melodrama, a contemporary caricature of contradictory social relations in urban space is staged. Targeting young people and adolescents, the free censorship show was conceived by the author of this article in order to promote scientific dissemination regarding the concepts of spatial socio-segregation using theatrical language as a strategy. Prometeu Negro Acorrentado tells the story of the boy Zé Nobody, he lives on the outskirts of a small town and is looking for his first job opportunity. Black, functionally illiterate, lives in an environment of scarcity. His story changes completely from the day he finds a book in the trash. That book would change the course of his story forever.
